How we choose the places

Our editorial policy: what goes into the guide, what doesn't, and how we keep it up to date.

One by one

We do not copy Google Maps. A place goes into the guide only if we would send a friend there, and each one comes with what makes it special: who runs it, what to order or when to go, and a local tip. Most places on the island are not in the guide, and that is on purpose.

Nobody pays to appear

No place pays to be in the guide or to appear higher up. The hotels and holiday homes that use our app do not decide which places appear either. When something is commercial (an experience booked on GetYourGuide, for example), we say so.

What changes, checked by hand

Opening hours come from each place's Google listing. What Google often gets wrong, we check by hand: seasonal closures, against the place's own notices, press and recent reviews; and rules such as car bans, low-emission zones or paid parking, against official sources. Each rule says where it comes from and the day we checked it.

Dated

Every place says when we last reviewed it («Reviewed in October 2026»), and the month and rules pages say when they were updated. If something is out of date, it shows.

Tools and people

We use tools, AI among them, to prepare drafts and translations into English, German and Spanish. Nothing is published until a person on the team has reviewed it.

Photos

Each photo is credited to its author or, when we do not know who took it, to the place itself. If a photo is yours and you want a different credit or want us to remove it, write to us and we will do it.

Mistakes

If you find a mistake, write to info@getmallorca.com: we correct it and, if it is a place, we review it again.
