Sa Calobra and Cala Tuent: full car parks
Escorca
Sa Calobra has just over 300 parking spaces and Cala Tuent around 100, and in August 700–800 cars a day arrive. Signs on the road show whether the car park is full: when it is, a barrier and an officer divert cars to Cala Tuent. If the sign says full, do not drive down: there is nowhere to leave the car.

Caló des Moro and s'Almunia: parking and access
Santanyí
In season, Santanyí town hall opens extra parking areas in Es Llombards and regulates access to the area, because on the busiest days up to 4,000 people a day have come down. Caló des Moro is part of the smoke-free beach network. Go early or outside July and August.

Palma: low emission zone (ZBE)
Until 31 December 2026 · Palma
Central Palma, inside the Avingudes ring road and the seafront, is a low emission zone with cameras that read number plates. Until 31 December 2026, cars with a DGT B, C, ECO or 0 label may enter; a rental car with Spanish plates usually has one, but check. A car with foreign plates needs a Mobipalma authorisation requested at least 5 days in advance (valid for 30 days; for a rental car, with a copy of the contract). Entering without permission costs €200 (30% more if you repeat it within 12 months); you can reach the public car parks in the centre (Parc de la Mar, Plaça Major, Via Roma, Olivar…) without authorisation along the signed routes.

Palma: camera-controlled old town streets (ACIRE)
Palma
Much of Palma's old town is made up of ACIRE zones: camera-controlled streets that only residents, deliveries, taxis and authorised vehicles may enter. It is not the same as the low emission zone: even if your car has a label, entering without authorisation costs €200. Leave the car in a public car park and walk in; if your hotel is inside, ask in advance whether it registers your number plate.

Palma: blue zone parking (ORA)
Palma
Palma's blue zone is paid Monday to Friday 9:00–14:30 and 16:30–20:00, and Saturdays 9:00–14:30. Inside the Avingudes ring and in Cala Major (zone 1) it costs €1.45 an hour, for up to 2 hours; pay at the meter by card or coins or with the MobiAPParc app. If you overstay, you can cancel the ticket at the meter for €6 in zone 1; fines are 50% off if paid within 20 days.

Sóller: town centre closed to visitors' cars
Sóller
Since 27 February 2026, almost all of Sóller's town centre has been a camera-controlled low emission zone: residents and zero-emission cars may enter; guests of hotels and accommodation in the centre only with prior authorisation. A rental car that is not electric must stay out: the minimum fine is €200. Leave the car in the car parks on the outskirts and walk in.

Sa Dragonera: closed for works on the jetty
15 October 2026 – 28 February 2027 · Andratx
The park's official website says Sa Dragonera has been closed since 15 October for works on the Cala Lledó jetty, the only place where the boats from Sant Elm land (its steps are being replaced by a ramp). Work stops from March to October to protect the park and should finish by the end of the year. Before you go, check the park's website or ask at the Sant Elm boat whether trips are running again.

Cala Agulla: barrier and parking
Capdepera
Since May 2026 a barrier has closed the main access to Cala Agulla to cars, inside the Llevant Natural Park, and the local police watch the accesses: anyone who gets past it faces a double fine. Park in the municipal car park at Clot de sa Grava. A new public car park with up to 450 spaces has been approved.

Cala Varques: no parking by the path
Manacor
Careful with Cala Varques: the usual makeshift parking no longer works. In March 2026 the Consell de Mallorca closed part of the old Ma-4014 road with bollards (it was used to leave cars in summer) and announced a barrier that will only let residents through. Parking on the hard shoulder of the Porto Cristo–Portocolom road is forbidden and it's patrolled. There's no big official car park: the town council talks about one with some 32 spaces, still with no date. The practical options are to arrive very early or go by boat, and not to count on leaving the car next to the path.

Drinking in the street: Platja de Palma, s'Arenal and Magaluf
Palma, Llucmajor, Calvià
In Platja de Palma (Palma), s'Arenal (Llucmajor) and the Punta Ballena and Magaluf promenade area (Calvià), drinking alcohol in the street is banned, except on the terraces of bars, restaurants and hotels or at regulated festivals. The fine is €500 to €1,500. In these areas open-bar, happy-hour and 2-for-1 offers and pub crawls are also banned.

Tourist tax (ITS)
Mallorca
For each night in tourist accommodation you pay the sustainable tourism tax: €4 in 5-star and 4-star superior hotels, €3 in 4-star and 3-star superior, €2 in 1- to 3-star hotels, holiday rentals and agroturismos, and €1 in hostales, campsites and hostels. From 1 November to 30 April it is 75% less, and from the ninth night in the same place, half. Under-16s do not pay; you usually pay at the accommodation.

Seasonal
Formentor: car restrictions in season
Every year, 15 May – 18 October · Pollença
From 15 May to 18 October, 10:00 to 22:00, the Ma-2210 road is restricted. You can drive to Formentor beach only while the car park at km 8 has spaces; when it is full, the barrier at km 2 closes. From the beach to the lighthouse only the TIB shuttle bus (line 334, from Alcúdia and Port de Pollença), bikes, taxis and authorised vehicles may pass. In Port de Pollença you can park for free on the Ma-2200 service road and take the bus there; driving in without authorisation means a fine (press reports give €100 to €200).
