Sa Dragonera Natural Park
Four walking routes through an island landscape.
View in the app · free, no sign-upAn uninhabited island off Sant Elm, a natural park since 1995 after years of protest against a plan to build on it. The boat crossing to the jetty at Cala Lledó takes about 15 minutes, and from there four marked routes set off: from a short stroll for families to the climb up Na Pòpia (353 m), the highest point, with the old lighthouse on top (about 3 hours return). It's home to an endemic lizard that walks right up to you and to seabird colonies such as shearwaters. The name has nothing to do with dragons: it probably comes from the Latin traconaria, for the caves where sailors collected water.
