Trip to Dragonera Island
Sa Dragonera is the long, dragon-shaped island you see off Sant Elm. It's a nature park and uninhabited, apart from thousands of endemic lizards that will come right up to you. Boats leave Sant Elm harbour and cross in about 15–20 minutes (spring to autumn, depending on the sea); there are also trips from Port d'Andratx.
Before you go: the park's official website says it has been closed since 15 October for works on the Cala Lledó jetty, the only place where the boats land. They should finish by the end of the year: check the park's website or ask at the Sant Elm boat whether trips are running again.
On the island you can walk to the lighthouses: Llebeig at the southern tip, or the old Na Pòpia at the highest point (1–3 hour routes with no shade). There are no shops or bins: bring water and take your rubbish back.
