Es Refugi

Same name, different house: in autumn 2025 Es Refugi changed hands, refurbished its premises on Carrer de sa Constitució and became Es Refugi · Foc, Copa i Taula (fire, glass and table). It sits in the centre of Andratx, a step from the square and far from the harbour scene, and calls its food market cooking with respect for tradition. In practice that means a short menu of sharing plates and a couple of grilled mains. Big, creamy Ibérico ham croquettes land on almost every table, and the oxtail cannelloni is the dish people talk about most since the change. From the grill there’s the chuletón steak and pork cheeks; from the sea, a meagre with parmesan sauce that’s worth ordering with chips to dip. Desserts are made in-house, with cheesecake and torrija (Spanish-style French toast) as regulars. The wine list is better than you’d expect from a village bar. It’s small and quiet, with a terrace for good weather and a menu that labels allergens clearly. It suits lunch after a walk in the hills around Andratx, or dinner without harbour prices or noise.
