Basilica of Sant Francesc
A Gothic cloister and Ramon Llull’s tomb in the heart of the old town.
View in the app · free, no sign-upPalma’s Franciscan church, begun in 1281: Gothic inside, with a 1700 baroque façade, carved portal and rose window. Ramon Llull, Mallorca’s great philosopher, is buried here, in a tomb built after his death. What stays with you, though, is the Gothic cloister, trapezoid-shaped with very slender columns, built between the 14th and 16th centuries around a garden. You go in through the cloister, on Plaça de Sant Francesc.
