Can Prunera
Modernist gem in Sóller: Art by Miró and Picasso in a unique mansion.
View in the app · free, no sign-upSóller’s most important modernista house, built between 1904 and 1911 by Joan Magraner and Margalida Vicens, known as els Pruneres, who made their fortune in France in the fruit trade, like many Sóller families who emigrated after blight wiped out the orange groves. There are no records of the architect; Joan Rubió i Bellver is one theory. Inside, hydraulic tiles, period furniture and lamps sit alongside the Serra Collection: Miró, Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec, Barceló and more than thirty works by Sóller painter Juli Ramis. There’s a sculpture garden out the back.
