Paella at Jessica's Finca in the Tramuntana Mountains
A paella class at a traditional finca in the Serra de Tramuntana near Sóller, reached by a ten-minute walk along a mountain path through olive trees and terraces. It is run by Jessica, who welcomes you as if into her own home: you cook the paella together step by step, with a glass of wine and Mallorcan nibbles while the rice cooks, and then eat at the outdoor table looking over the valley. Along the way she tells you the story of these terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is rustic and very close to nature (don't expect a restaurant kitchen) and the group is small, so you end up chatting with people from all over the world. With more than 130 reviews, what comes up again and again is Jessica and the setting. Wear comfortable shoes for the path.
