S'Almunia is Caló des Moro's rocky neighbour on the Santanyí coast: a narrow, deep inlet with a handful of stone fishermen's huts at the water's edge, their boat ramps running into a turquoise so intense it looks edited. There's barely any sand, just a scrap on the right; the rest is slabs and rocks, many of them sharp, where people spread their towels, with a little pine shade. You get there on foot: from the official car park it's 10–20 minutes along the estate's tarmac lanes, then a long, steep staircase of around 120–150 steps, some broken. At the bottom a five-minute path leads to Caló des Moro, so most people do both. S'Almunia's real draw is the swimming: facing the sea, on the left by the jetty, the seabed is full of fish and it's the best snorkelling spot; there are jumps of various heights, a hole in the rock you can leap through into the sea and an arch beside one of the houses. What reviews keep saying: it fills up from ten because it's the way through to Moro, the ramps are slippery with algae, there's no lifeguard and no facilities, and in 2026 several mention plastic and cigarette ends between the rocks and anchored boats playing music. It's for swimmers and agile people, not for reduced mobility, buggies or toddlers. In winter, with a swell running, the view from the top is worth the trip even if you don't go down.
