Sant Joan Night in Palma
View in the app · free, no sign-upOn the night of 23 June Palma celebrates the Nit de Sant Joan, the eve of Saint John's Day and of summer. The revetla (street party) in the Parc de la Mar, below the Cathedral, has been organised since 1984 by the city's federation of residents' associations. In 2026 it began at 20:00 with the fogueró (bonfire) lit from the Flama de la Llengua, the flame carried through the Catalan-speaking towns; children's correfoc (fire run) at 20:15, ball de bot (folk dancing) at 21:00 and the big correfoc at 22:30, with dimonis (devils) and bèsties de foc (sparking fire beasts) running through the crowd, then a concert. Afterwards many head to the city beaches (Can Pere Antoni, Ciutat Jardí, s'Arenal) for a midnight swim. For the correfoc wear long cotton sleeves, closed shoes, a cap and glasses, and keep 2 metres from the beasts. EMT adds extra buses that night.
