Cala Varques: getting there and the car
Careful with Cala Varques: the usual makeshift parking no longer works. In March 2026 the Consell de Mallorca closed part of the old Ma-4014 road with bollards (it was used to leave cars in summer) and announced a barrier that will only let residents through. Parking on the hard shoulder of the Porto Cristo–Portocolom road is forbidden and it's patrolled.
There's no big official car park: the town council talks about one with some 32 spaces, still with no date. The practical options are to arrive very early or go by boat, and not to count on leaving the car next to the path.
