Eat well, no fuss

Sometimes you just want to sit down, eat well and get on with your day. For that, Mallorca's village bars and old-school taverns are perfect: tapas and home cooking, a terrace on the square, fair prices and, at lunchtime, hardly ever any need to book if you arrive before 2 pm. Order what's on the day's chalkboard, a pa amb oli or a few plates to share. Be wary of terraces with photo menus and waiters touting at the door. Here are reliable places all over the island: pick the one on your way.
