Where to watch the sunset
To see Mallorca's best sunset you need to look west: the mountain coast, with cliffs dropping into the sea, and the south-west, with islets on the horizon, are the best places. In the city, a rooftop or a hilltop castle gives you the whole bay. Check today's sunset time and arrive half an hour early: in summer the viewpoints fill up and parking is hard, and the most beautiful light is just before and just after the sun disappears. If the last stretch is on foot, bring a torch for the way back. You can also watch it from the sea on a sailing trip.
