Formentor Lighthouse
Out of season, yes: in 2026 the restriction ran from 15 May to 18 October, 10 am to 10 pm, so since 19 October you can drive up to the lighthouse again at any time, until next year's season starts.
In season, on those dates and hours, you can drive as far as Formentor beach while there's space; from there to the lighthouse only authorised vehicles, bikes, taxis and the bus can pass. If you drive up without a permit, a camera fine will follow. The practical option then is to leave the car in Port de Pollença and take the TIB shuttle bus (line 334), paying by card.
At sunrise or sunset the views are spectacular.
In season the barrier is at kilometre 2 of the Ma-2210, and the beach car park at kilometre 8. While there are spaces the light is green and the barrier is up; once it is full the light turns red and only authorised vehicles get through. Without authorisation you have to wait on the service road for a space to free up, or go back to Port de Pollença and take the 334 bus. Besides the bus, bikes, taxis and private-hire cars, residents and vehicles carrying people with reduced mobility displaying the V-15 sign may pass.
Out of season (this year, from 19 October) you can drive up to the lighthouse, but the car park at the top is small and fills at sunset: arrive with time to spare or go first thing. By bike, the road is narrow and winding with no hard shoulder; ride early, when there is less traffic.

Can taxis drive to Formentor lighthouse?
Yes. During the restriction, from 15 May to 18 October, 10 am to 10 pm, taxis and private-hire cars may pass, as well as the TIB 334 shuttle bus, bikes and residents. It is a good option if there are several of you and you do not want to wait for the bus.
How do I get Formentor access with reduced mobility?
Vehicles carrying people with reduced mobility and showing the V-15 sign may pass, but you must apply to the DGT at least three working days ahead by emailing formentor@dgt.es. The barrier reads the number plate; also bring the QR code they send you.
When can you drive to the Formentor lighthouse?
Outside the restriction. In 2026 the Ma-2210 was restricted from 15 May to 18 October, 10:00 to 22:00, so from mid-October to mid-May you can drive up, and in season before 10:00 or after 22:00. The DGT sets the dates every year: check them before you go.
