Island life
What to do in Mallorca?
There’s always something going on in Mallorca: village fiestas, markets, concerts, wine tastings or a laid-back tardeo. Take a look at the Events section to see what’s on right now and live the island like a local.
Mallorca's calendar changes a lot with the season. In summer many villages hold their patron saint fiestas, with concerts in the square, open-air dances and correfocs; autumn brings the fairs, the biggest being Inca's Dijous Bo, which in 2026 falls on Thursday 19 November, with Dimecres Bo the day before. And there are weekly markets all year: Sineu's, on Wednesday mornings, is the oldest on the island, and Alcúdia's fills the old town on Tuesdays and Sundays.
For a good weekend, mix something regular with something that only happens those days: a market in the morning, a beach or walk at midday, and a concert or village fiesta in the evening. In Palma, from 4 to 8 November 2026, the TaPalma food route brings together 42 venues serving creative tapas. If it rains, the caves at Porto Cristo and the Es Baluard museum in Palma are good options.
Frequently asked questions
What can you do in Mallorca when it rains?
The Coves del Drac and Coves dels Hams at Porto Cristo are just as good in the rain, and in Palma there is the cathedral, the Es Baluard museum and the Olivar and Santa Catalina markets, with bars for lunch. It is also a good day to explore inland villages such as Sineu.
When is Dijous Bo in Inca in 2026?
On Thursday 19 November 2026, with Dimecres Bo the day before, Wednesday 18. It is Mallorca's biggest fair, with stalls, exhibitions, music and food all over central Inca. Go by train from Palma, as parking that day is very difficult.
What weekly markets are there in Mallorca?
Almost every village has its day. Sineu's, on Wednesday mornings, is the oldest and still sells animals; Alcúdia's is on Tuesdays and Sundays in the old town; and in Palma, Pere Garau sets up stalls in the square on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
