A charming restaurant in Mallorca is usually in a building with history: an old olive mill, a manor house with a patio, an estate among almond trees or a dining room under a vine. The cooking matches, with island produce and no rush, and evening is its best moment, with the garden lights on. Book and ask for a table in the patio or on the terrace; if it's chilly or raining, ask whether the indoor room is lovely too. Many are outside the city: plan on a car or taxi to get back.
