Getting around
Getting back at night: taxis and night transport
At night, the most reliable way back is a taxi. Nightlife areas have ranks with cars until late, but in a small village it's best to call the dispatch line or book ahead, as there may be none nearby. The night fare, a little higher, applies from 10 pm to 6 am, and almost all taxis take cards. City and island buses stop running around midnight, and night lines, where they exist, are few and only in season: check the timetable before you head out. Ride-hailing apps work around the capital, with limited cars. If you've been drinking, leave the car: police breath tests are common.
