Ca'n Joan de s'Aigo: ensaïmada and almond ice cream
The café with the most history in Palma is Ca'n Joan de s'Aigo: it opened in 1700. It's the place for ensaïmada with hot chocolate («xocolata calenta») and home-made almond ice cream («gelat d'ametlla»).
It doesn't have just one café but three:
- Carrer de Can Sanç, 10, in the old town.
- Carrer del Baró de Santa Maria del Sepulcre, 5, by Jaume III.
- Carrer del Sindicat, 74.
If you're in the historic centre, Can Sanç is the handiest; if you're shopping around Jaume III, go to the Santa Maria del Sepulcre one.
