Mallorca with your dog

Mallorca is fairly dog friendly, although in summer most beaches don't allow dogs. There are beaches and coves set aside for them, such as Es Carnatge (Palma), Cala Blanca (Andratx), Punta de Marroig (Palmanova), Llenaire (Port de Pollença) or Na Patana (Santa Margalida); always check the signs, as rules vary by town and season.

Many terraces welcome dogs and the Serra de Tramuntana has beautiful trails, but avoid the hottest hours and bring water: tarmac and rocks get scorching. Buses and trains usually accept small dogs in a carrier; in taxis it's up to the driver. In late winter watch out for pine processionary caterpillars: they're dangerous for dogs.
