Binissalem, the wine capital of Mallorca (DO Binissalem), celebrates the grape harvest all through September; 2026 was its 60th edition. On the Saturday a week before the last Sunday of September, at 12:00, the opening speech is given outside the town hall and then comes the Gran batalla de raïm, the grape battle: tonnes of grapes thrown around the sports-ground area, organised by the Joves des Trui. At 14:00 there are fideus de vermar (harvest noodles) in Plaça de l'Església. The next Saturday at 17:00 the carrosses (floats) parade, and the last Sunday is the Dia des Vermar: mass at 10:30 in Santa Maria de Robines and the offering of the most novell (new must). Tip: for the battle wear clothes you can throw away, goggles and closed shoes; the train from Palma stops in town, and the Fira del Vi wine fair runs on the final weekend.
