Bohemian spirit and unbeatable views in a pristine setting.

Son Serra de Marina is one of the few spots on the Bay of Alcúdia that is still quiet, and Moomba is where everyone ends up. It’s a wooden beach shack with a sand floor, tables under the pines and the beach just across the road, looking out over the bay, Colònia de Sant Pere and the Artà mountains. Reggae and chill-out play, and there’s often live music in the late afternoon, especially at weekends. Don’t come for serious cooking: the menu is beach food – nachos, burgers (the crispy chicken and the veggie ones are the favourites), wraps, salads, homemade croquettes and the odd fish dish such as grilled sea bass. Where it gets things right is the late-afternoon slot: cocktails, mojitos, G&Ts and cold beer with the sea breeze. There are vegan and veggie options, dogs are welcome, and there’s a small stall selling jewellery and summer dresses on one side. Bear in mind that the food and the service vary with the day and how busy it is; come for the setting and a drink and you’ll leave happy.
