The Sunset Sea Club (Villa Chiquita)

It’s the rooftop of Hotel Villa Chiquita, on the top floor, above the houses of Colònia de Sant Jordi and with the open sea in front, facing west: hence the name. Up there is an infinity pool ringed by sun loungers and Bali beds, a cocktail bar and tables for dinner. It works in two phases. By day it’s a pool deck for hotel guests and day-pass holders, with snacks ordered from your phone. As evening comes it turns into the village’s sunset bar: signature cocktails, wine and live music all summer, with chill-out DJs some nights. The menu is long and well-travelled (sushi and poke bowls, gyozas, bao buns, prawn tempura, burrata salad, club sandwich, an açaí bowl with homemade gluten-free granola), but the reason to go up is the sunset with a drink in hand; opinions on the food are more mixed. It’s for over-12s only and open to non-residents too, with a minimum spend per person.
