Getting around
Is there Uber in Mallorca?
Yes, with some caveats. Uber works in Palma and nearby areas (Calvià, Andratx, Llucmajor), with private-hire cars and also with taxis that take rides through the app. Supply is limited, waits can be long in high season and the rules in the Balearics are changing, so this may vary. Cabify or Bolt are not a reliable option on the island right now.
For the rest of Mallorca, taxis are the practical choice: official ranks, Radio Taxi by phone or local taxi apps. If you have a very early flight or you're staying in a small village, book a taxi or a transfer the day before.
Since spring 2026 Uber has had 20 dedicated spaces in the arrivals area at Palma airport, next to the taxi ranks: open the app when you land, choose a car and you are picked up there. The price shows in the app before you book and rises with demand. Meanwhile the Balearic Government and the taxi sector are trying to curb new private-hire licences, so supply may change from one summer to the next.
From the airport to central Palma there is also the EMT A1 bus, which runs to Plaça d'Espanya and the intermodal station, where TIB buses and trains leave for the rest of the island. In villages the taxi rank is usually in the square, with the local drivers' phone numbers on a sign; in high season call ahead, and for dinners in the countryside ask the restaurant to book your ride back.
