A day in Santa Margalida

What to do in Santa Margalida in one day, in the order that makes sense: Son Real Necropolis, Vins Galmés i Ribot and Restaurant Stop. With the times, the journeys and what it costs.

The times are planned for a Saturday in november, with sunset at 17:42: every place is open when you arrive, according to its hours. They change with the season and we review the plan every week.

Morning to mid-afternoon

Local produce, a winery and a relaxed lunch.

Bring water and sun protection, as there's no shade at all. From Son Bauló beach, facing the sea, turn right and walk along the sand. If you park at the Son Real estate, the path crosses about 2.5 km of scrubland that gets very hot in summer.

This isn't a winery to just turn up at: call or email first and ask for the visit to go through the vineyard. In September, if you hit the harvest, you can taste the grapes before they go into the cellar. Ask for Som Blanc and some Ve d'Avior, which are hard to find elsewhere, and take home their honey or grape jam.

Opening hours not confirmed: best to check before you go.

Book by phone, and if you want porcella on Sunday, order it when you book. Parking right in front is easy; note there are steps at the entrance and the toilets are downstairs. It closes for holidays in summer.
