A 45-hectare archaeological park on a 119 m hill between Santa Ponça, Son Ferrer and El Toro, opened in 2002. It held a Talayotic settlement lived in from around 800 BC until the Romans arrived, with three cyclopean towers and a round talayot about 9 m across on the summit; in Almohad times the rooms around Tower III were reoccupied. The first battle of the Christian conquest was fought here in 1229. The University of the Balearic Islands has been digging here since 1996. There are 8 km of paths through the pines, with old charcoal pits and five viewpoints over the bay.
