Banyalbufar and Estellencs
On the west coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, the Ma-10 road between Andratx and Valldemossa passes two tiny villages clinging above the sea. Banyalbufar is famous for its dry-stone terraces stepping down to the cliffs, once planted with malvasia vines; below there's a small cove with a waterfall after rain. Estellencs, at the foot of Galatzó, is even quieter.
Don't miss the Mirador de ses Ànimes, a 16th-century watchtower with spectacular views, or Port des Canonge with its fishermen's huts. It's a route to take slowly, with stops to eat looking out to sea and watch the sunset.
