Best snorkelling spots in Mallorca
Mallorca's water is so clear that you'll see fish with just a mask, but some spots are special:
- El Toro Marine Reserve (between Santa Ponça and Portals Vells): protected seabeds teeming with life.
- Llevant Marine Reserve (Cala Rajada and Cala Agulla): rocks, groupers and posidonia meadows.
- Cala Varques and Cala Mondragó on the east coast, with caves and rock walls.
- Sant Elm and Dragonera, and Cabrera's Cova Blava if you take the boat trip.
Go in the morning when the sea is calm and enter along the rocky sides of the coves. Don't touch or stand on the posidonia, and if you swim further out use a marker buoy: boats pass by.
