Pollença and Port de Pollença
Pollença is one of the most charming towns in the north. Its icon is the Calvari stairway: 365 cypress-lined steps up to a chapel with views over the bay. Plaça Major is full of terraces and on Sunday mornings hosts one of the liveliest markets on the island. Nearby you'll find Puig de Maria, with a sanctuary on top, Cala Sant Vicenç and the road to Formentor.
6 km away is Port de Pollença, with a calm, shallow bay that's ideal for families and paddleboarding, and the Passeig Voramar, the lovely "Pine Walk". On 2 August the town celebrates Moors and Christians, one of Mallorca's most heartfelt fiestas.
