An old flour windmill in Sa Cabaneta, Marratxí, Mallorca's pottery village, turned into a clay museum in 2002. It holds more than 900 ceramic pieces, mostly from the local potteries, and a good collection of siurells, the white clay whistles with red and green dabs that kids recognise straight away. For children aged roughly 4 to 12 it works as a game: comparing shapes, guessing what each piece was for, then going to watch a real potter at one of the village workshops. During guided visits and special days there are clay and siurell workshops for children and adults. The downsides: it's small, it only opens on weekday mornings, workshops aren't daily and need booking, and otherwise there's nothing hands-on.
