Pòrtol Pots
Mother-and-son potters from Pòrtol, with 3-hour classes and stoneware
View in the app · free, no sign-upThe studio of Esperança and Joan, mother and son, who carry on a line of potters from Pòrtol, the Marratxí village where clay has been worked for centuries. Esperança is a certified master craftswoman; Joan brings a contemporary eye. For visitors there's a 3-hour hand-building workshop (up to 10 people, in Spanish, Catalan or English) plus two- and four-day courses, and they glaze and fire whatever you make. The shop sells stoneware made on site: plates with hand-written Mallorcan sayings, mugs, siurell-patterned plates and vases named after old traditional pieces.
