Es Trenc Salt Flats

The Salinas d'Es Trenc are the salt pans that produce Flor de Sal d'Es Trenc, on the road from Campos to Colònia de Sant Jordi (km 8.7), inside the Es Trenc-Salobrar natural park and a few minutes from Es Trenc beach. You can only enter the site and the shop on a guided tour, booked ahead and run in German, English, French and other languages. It lasts about 45 minutes: you see seawater evaporate in the ponds until the salt crystallises and is harvested by hand, and at the end you taste flavoured salts. The guide brings binoculars for the Salobrar's birds, and with luck there are flamingos, though it's not guaranteed. There's no shade and no café.
