Homemade tapas and local soul: the taste of authentic, timeless Palma.

It opened in early 2023 on Plaça Gomila in El Terreno, right where the walk down from Bellver Castle ends, and it works like an all-day neighbourhood bar, only in a tastefully refurbished room with newspapers on the counter and a terrace on the square. In the morning there are llonguets (Mallorcan bread rolls), toast, fresh orange juice and breakfast combos; at lunchtime a set menu of the day; and at night Spanish bar tapas with a few twists of their own. The signature is patatas Bellver, their take on bravas, and the rest revolves around it: oxtail, which turns up as a croquette, on a coca flatbread and in a sandwich; roast beef and steak tartare; a smash burger with a following; and a much-ordered potato tortilla. For dessert, torrija or cheesecake. There are cocktails, a wine list with plenty of natural wines and the occasional afternoon session. Portions are on the small side and some of the mains show up on the bill, so it works better for tapas or the set menu than for a dinner of big plates.
