Bellver Castle
360º panoramic views from a unique circular castle; Mallorca's best vista.
View in the app · free, no sign-upThe circular castle Jaume II had built around 1300 above Palma as a royal residence and fortress, one of the few round castles in Europe. From 1717 it was a military prison; its most famous inmate was the Enlightenment minister Jovellanos, held here from 1802 to 1808. Today it houses the Palma History Museum and the Despuig collection of classical sculpture, brought from Rome by Cardinal Antoni Despuig. From the top terrace you see the bay, the Cathedral and the Tramuntana.
