On Plaça del Banc de l'Oli, a little square two minutes from Plaza Mayor that escapes the bustle of the centre, what was for years the S'Oli 13 bar, with home cooking and a set lunch menu, is now Casa S'Oli, one of the Grupo Cardón restaurants. The change shows: it's now a restaurant of creative tapas and rice dishes, for lunch and dinner, with a terrace on the square and an old-style dining room inside that is small, with tables packed close and candles lit after dark. The most ordered dish is the octopus rice, followed by paella, ham croquettes, burrata, pulled-pork brioche and tuna tartare on toast; if you want something heartier, the osso buco cannelloni or an entrecôte. Desserts hold their own, and the chocolate cremoso is the one people remember. The wine list leans on island wineries, there's homemade lemonade and a fair amount of cocktails, and some nights a musician comes by with his guitar. When it's full the kitchen takes its time and inside it's hard to talk: if you can, sit outside.
