La Miranda Palma
The menu mixes tapas with Latin cooking and outside touches
View in the app · free, no sign-upLa Miranda's kitchen is so small that the menu warns you: nothing is prepared in advance, everything is cooked to order and dishes come out as they're ready, to be shared as they arrive. The restaurant looks onto Plaça del Banc de l'Oli, a little square in the lanes behind Plaça Major, with a sunny terrace. The menu blends Spanish tapas with an Argentine accent and a few foreign touches: hand-cut beef or Manchego, tomato and basil empanadas, grilled skirt steak with criolla sauce, tacos of pulled beef short rib with guacamole, patatas bravas with kimchi sauce, black squid-ink croquettes and a sea bass ceviche with raspberry aguachile. Portions are medium and prices restrained for the area, which encourages ordering several things. The other half of the place is speciality coffee and home baking — the carrot cake gets the most mentions — which makes it a good brunch stop too. To drink, Mallorcan wines by the glass (Prensal Blanc, Miquel Oliver's Muscat, Llampuga from 4 Kilos, Dos Marías from Binissalem), Rosa Blanca beer and Puig soft drinks, made on the island.
