Cala Murada is the beach of the resort of the same name on the Manacor coast, between Porto Cristo and Cala d'Or: a sandy cove at the head of an open bay, with white houses among the pines on the slopes and few hotels, so the crowd is families and people who come back every summer. The water deepens gently over a sandy bottom, with a few stones right at the entry, and on calm days it has the pale colour of the east coast's coves. Behind the sand is a small lagoon formed by the stream that holds water much of the year, not for swimming. In summer there's a lifeguard, showers, sunbeds, parasols, pedal boats and kayaks for hire, and right on the sand a restaurant with a terrace over the cove; in July and August, especially on Sundays, it fills from mid-morning. If you want fewer people, the coastal path towards Cala Domingos leads to lookouts over the bay and small rocky inlets. It isn't a wild cove or a special snorkelling spot: it's an easy beach with everything you need, ideal for small children and for a day without the car if you're staying there.
