The caves at Porto Cristo explored in 1896 by Édouard-Alfred Martel, the father of modern caving, at the invitation of Archduke Ludwig Salvator: he found the great lake that now bears his name, 117 m long. The route runs about 1,200 m among stalactites, down to 25 m underground, at 17–21 °C. At the end you sit facing the lake for a live concert held since 1935: two violins, cello and harpsichord, followed by lighting that mimics sunrise. Then you cross the lake by boat or over the bridge. The lighting is by Carles Buïgas.
