A small museum in an old mill in Montuïri devoted to the Talaiotic village of Son Fornés, one of the most important prehistoric sites in the Balearics, excavated since 1975. For kids from about 7 upwards it works in two parts: first they see the pottery, weapons and objects found there in the museum, then, 2.5 km away, they walk round the village with its talaiots and stone houses, where archaeologists are still digging. Under-12s go free and there's an open day on the last Sunday of each month. The downsides: it only opens in the mornings, Wednesday to Saturday, the museum is quick to see, and there's barely any signage at the site, so go to the museum first.
