Mhares Sea Club
An infinity pool on the Llucmajor cliffs, looking out over the bay.
View in the app · free, no sign-upYou reach it by winding down through a residential estate on the Llucmajor coast, well away from the hotels, and suddenly the whole Bay of Palma opens up, with the sun setting on that side. There is no sand: the club is terraced over the rocks, with a large pool a few metres from the sea, loungers and Balinese beds, and steps cut into the rock leading down to a clear-water cove that's good for snorkelling. By day it works as a beach club, with a lounger or bed booked in advance; it is also a Mediterranean restaurant with tables on the terrace. The kitchen's strongest suit is rice — the vegetable paella, the black paella and a black rice with octopus and tuna belly — and to share, tuna tartare, steak tartare or a lobster brioche. There are cocktails, gluten-free options including bread, and on some Sunday afternoons, DJ events. The sunset is the big draw, which is why late afternoon is the most sought-after slot. You pay for the location and the bill is high; it also has club rules (the pool is by booking and closes before the restaurant, and you need to be dressed to sit down to eat) worth knowing beforehand to avoid surprises.
