View in the app · free, no sign-upA tiny independent theatre, with just 50 seats, in Manacor, on a side street off Avinguda del Parc, less than 200 m from the Teatre de Manacor. It was opened in October 2015 by La Fornal d'Espectacles, a Mallorcan theatre company founded in 2003 and run since 2007 by Joan Gomila, a former director of Palma's Teatre Principal, and it's one of the few private, independent venues on the island (it belongs to the Red de Teatros Alternativos, Spain's network of fringe theatres). Its 180 m² hold the stage, a small foyer with a bar, a library and a flat for companies in residence. The programme mixes the company's own productions with visiting companies, almost always in Catalan: theatre for adults, the 'Dijous amb humor' comedy series on Thursdays, small concerts, showings by resident companies and, in autumn, the Manacor Family Theatre Festival, now in its fifth year, with Sunday shows at €5. This October, for example, Valencian comedian Xavi Castillo brings his satire 'Apocalipsi Fatxa!'. Tickets cost €5 to €17. Bear in mind that with so few seats shows sell out, almost everything is in Catalan, and there are no fixed opening hours: it only opens when there's a show.
