SkyBar Hotel Almudaina
Hotel Almudaina rooftop with Cathedral views.
View in the app · free, no sign-upOn Avinguda Jaume III, the shopping street, Hotel Almudaina keeps a bar and restaurant on its eighth floor that’s open to anyone who takes the lift. There are two spaces: a lounge bar with sofas and big windows, and an outdoor terrace with a wide balcony overlooking the Cathedral, the Almudaina palace, the port and Bellver Castle above the rooftops. What sets it apart from the other city-centre rooftops is that you can eat properly here at a fair price: Monday to Friday at lunchtime there’s a weekly set menu at €22.50 with bread and one drink, a choice of three starters, three mains and two desserts, market cooking with Latin touches (one week might put sea bass en papillote alongside papa rellena with beef stew or Peruvian-style roast chicken). The à la carte menu costs more and mixes classics — croquettes, fried squid with lime aioli, Basque-style cod with crispy pork belly, Iberian presa — with fusion dishes such as Nikkei queen scallops or a tuna tartare brioche; the creamy cuttlefish and prawn rice is what you see on most tables. Later in the day it turns into cocktails, wine and cava by the glass at sunset, and in winter there are blankets outside. The tables against the glass have the best view and are the first to be booked. The kitchen has good days and less good ones: for a safe bet, go for the lunch menu or a few bites with your drink.
