Church of Sant Jaume and Parish Museum
Mallorcan religious art beside the city walls.
View in the app · free, no sign-upThe Church of Sant Jaume stands beside the medieval walls of Alcúdia's old town. It's small, but striking for its beauty and peaceful atmosphere. It was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in the late 19th century, after the original church collapsed in 1870. The exterior is plain, while inside you'll find a rose window, stained glass and the Baroque chapel of the Holy Christ (17th century), a figure much revered in the town. The small parish museum holds Mallorcan Gothic works from the 14th and 15th centuries, including an altarpiece and carved choir stalls. A visit takes about 20 minutes, and it's a cool escape on hot days.
