Capdepera Lighthouse
Mallorca’s easternmost cape, lit in 1861 and still working
View in the app · free, no sign-upThe lighthouse on Punta de Capdepera, Mallorca’s easternmost cape, lit in 1861 and still working: a white tower of about 21 metres on bare rock. It’s the point of the island closest to Menorca, and on very clear days you can see it as a low line on the horizon. Tradition says Jaume I waited here in 1231 for the messengers he had sent to Menorca. You get there on a narrow road from Cala Gat or on foot along the coastal path, past walls and rocks. The cape is exposed and it’s often windy even when it’s hot.
