A hike that starts at the Ermita de la Victòria on the Alcúdia peninsula and ends at Penya Rotja, a reddish rock about 355 metres high hanging over the sea, with views of Pollença Bay and Formentor. On the summit there's still a cannon placed in 1630, from the days when this was a lookout post against pirates. The first part is an easy forest track, with a stop at Ses Tres Creus; the last stretch follows an airy path with a wooden handrail and scrambles between rocks. Allow about two and a half hours there and back. The downsides: the final section is exposed and not recommended for children under 7 or anyone with vertigo, the car park at the Ermita fills up at weekends, and there's hardly any shade.
