Restaurant Costa d'Or (Llucalcari)
Sea-facing terrace in Llucalcari for dinner at sunset
View in the app · free, no sign-upGetting there means leaving the Deià–Sóller road and dropping down a lane through ancient olive trees to Llucalcari, a stone hamlet perched above the sea. That's where you'll find the Costa d'Or hotel, part of the Mallorcan Hoposa group, and its restaurant, whose main argument is the terrace: it faces west over open sea and is one of the few spots on this coast where you can have dinner watching the sun sink into the water. The cooking is Mediterranean with Mallorcan roots and no ambition beyond keeping the view company: rice dishes and paella, fish (their take on Mallorcan-style fish with vegetables and a parmesan tuile, hake loin with herb velouté) and some meat, such as beef fillet with foie. At lunchtime the menu is simpler, with salads, squid and sandwiches for people out on a drive or a hike. The food isn't what you'll remember about the evening and service has its off days, but prices are fair for the setting. It's the stop for a quiet lunch on the Tramuntana coast or a sunset dinner, not a culinary pilgrimage.
