Trui Teatre
Palma’s 1,327-seat theatre: musicals, comedy, concerts; good sound, exit jams.
View in the app · free, no sign-upOne of Palma's big theatres, with 1,327 seats on a single level, inside the grounds of the La Salle school in Son Rapinya, about 2 km northwest of the centre. It was opened in December 2010 on the site of the school's old theatre by Grup Trui, the Mallorcan promoter that started out in the seventies with a jazz club. This is where the big commercial shows play: family musicals (this autumn, Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors), well-known Spanish comedians (it hosts much of the Fesjaja comedy festival, with Eva Soriano, Dani Martínez and La Ruina), concerts, tribute acts, magic and children's shows such as Cantajuego. Almost everything is in Spanish, except the concerts. There's a bar in the foyer that opens before and after the show (and during the interval, if there is one). The acoustics are good and the seats comfortable; the downsides: the entrance is narrow so queues build up, the toilets need a refurb, and getting out of the car park after the show is a traffic jam.
