Mallorca month by month

Mallorca in August

The hottest, busiest month, but also the one with the big fiestas: Moros i Cristians in Pollença and Sant Bartomeu.

In August, Palma has an average high of 32 °C and an average low of 23 °C, the sea is around 28 °C and it rains on about 4 days (averages 2016–2025).

August is the hottest and busiest month of the year: the sea goes above 27 °C, the nights are tropical and half of Europe is on holiday on the island, as are the Mallorcans themselves. Enjoy it like July, with more patience: swims at sunrise, a siesta and life from seven in the evening. To escape the heat, the Tramuntana villages cool down a little at night.

It is the month of the big patron saint fiestas: on 2 August, Moros i Cristians in Pollença, a battle lived in the streets; Sant Salvador in Artà; Sant Bartomeu (24 August) in Sóller and with the cossiers in Montuïri, and Sant Agustí in Felanitx. At the end of the month the first late-summer storms can arrive, short but strong.
