The town the Romans founded after conquering Mallorca in 123 BC, right outside Alcúdia's old town. You visit it in three parts: La Portella, the residential quarter where the House of the Two Treasures keeps its full floor plan around the atrium; the forum, with the remains of the Capitoline temple to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva and a row of taverns; and, on the southern edge, the 1st-century theatre cut into the rock, which still has part of its seating, orchestra and stage. In August it fills up again for 'Agost a la Fresca'.
