One of the recent openings on Carrer de Cotoner in Santa Catalina, it has become the neighbourhood's meeting point at vermouth hour within a few months. The format is a standing-bar vermutería: high tables, stools and nibbles, no tablecloths, no ceremony. The house vermouth is at the heart of it — they also sell it by the bottle to take away — and there's a selection of other labels, classic and newer, which the bar staff explain and recommend to suit your taste. To go with it, tinned fish, pickles and simple tapas made with good produce: gildas (anchovy, olive and pickled-chilli skewers) are what everyone orders, followed by patallones (crisps topped with mussels), the cheese board, ham and toasts. It's more of a long-afternoon plan than a formal dinner, with good music and friendly, personal service. It also hosts birthdays and celebrations.
