Puig de Santa Magdalena
Lone hill with a medieval hermitage and views to Tramuntana and Alcúdia
View in the app · free, no sign-upA hill of about 307 m rising alone from the plain, some 6 km from Inca: from the top you see the Serra de Tramuntana, the Pla de Mallorca and the bays of Alcúdia and Pollença. On the summit stands the Santa Magdalena oratory, with a hermitage recorded shortly after the 1229 conquest; it housed Franciscan nuns and a grammar school until 1784, and today a 'donat' looks after it. Inside is a 15th-century nativity scene. You can drive to the top or walk up the road and its shortcuts (about 2 h return). There's a restaurant, a picnic area with fountains and barbecues, and a path to the cross on Puig de la Minyó.
